The Minister of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation, Abdulla Rafiu, has officially inaugurated the K. Guraidhoo Handball Court, fulfilling one of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s commitments to reviving and completing halted sports projects.

The project, which began in 2023 but was halted, was successfully completed within a year under the current administration at a total cost of MVR 1.5 million. This achievement aligns with the government’s broader initiative to resume and finalize stalled sports infrastructure projects, ensuring better facilities for athletes and the local community.

The new handball court will serve as a key venue for training and competitions, further strengthening the development of the sport in the Maldives.
