Minister of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation, Abdulla Rafiu, attended the closing ceremony of the ATF Maldives Junior Open 2024, an Under-16 tennis tournament held with the support of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The event featured over 30 players from six countries, highlighting emerging talent in the region.

During the ceremony, Minister Rafiu presented awards to outstanding players across various categories. A notable highlight was the exceptional performance of Aaraa Aasaal Azim, who secured the U16 Singles Champion title. Aaraa also clinched the Doubles Champion title alongside her partner, Nayara Usama Ali, both representing the Maldives.

Aaraa’s achievements mark a significant milestone for Maldivian tennis, underscoring her exceptional skill and dedication to the sport.
