The People's Republic of China donated table tennis equipment to the Maldives. 

At a special ceremony held in Male's TT hall, Chinese Ambassador H.E. Wang Lixin handed over the table tennis equipment to the Maldives. Minister for State for Sports, Fitness, and Recreation Mohamed Riyaz and President of the Table Tennis Association of the Maldives, Mr. Ali Rasheed, received the equipment. 

In this ceremony, H.E. Ambassador Wang Lixin gave the assurance that China will help and aid in developing sports in the Maldives. 

She also highlighted that sports cooperation has played an important role in bilateral relations for many years, which has greatly improved the well-being of Maldivian people and strengthened the friendship between the two countries. 

The state minister, Mohamed Riyaz, thanked the Chinese government for their continuous support of Maldives sports. 

The donated sports equipment includes 10 TT tables, 600 rackets, 3000 balls, scoreboards, and timeout signs.
