Minister
Abdulla Rafiu has met with the Maldivian swimming team, which won a major
victory in the national championship held in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
Minister Rafiu
met with the national swimming team this morning. Sports Minister Rafiu,
Swimming Association President Mohamed Abdul Sattar and ministers of state of
the Sports Ministry were also present at the meeting held at the Ministry.
Maldivian team
won one gold, six silver and eight bronze medals.
Minister Rafiu
extended his gratitude to the swimming team for their commendable victories at
the National Swimming Championship in Sri Lanka. Emphasizing a collective
commitment to excellence, the Minister urged all the swimmers to persevere and
contribute to elevating the country's standing in future international
competitions. The encouragement was coupled with a call for sustained
dedication and hard work to enhance the nation's reputation on the global
sporting stage.
Minister Rafiu
also said that efforts would be made to provide more training opportunities to
the players with an aim to improve the quality of Maldivian swimmers.
