President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu officially inaugurated the Minimum Medical Requirements Facility developed at the Social Centre.
Developing facilities equipped with healthcare services at locations hosting major national and international sporting events is one of the pledges of the government's first 100 days. This initiative requires a minimal standard to be followed for the medical rooms on sporting grounds.
These healthcare facilities guarantee required first aid to players, officials, and spectators at national and international sporting event venues, if required. The facilities also aim to ensure patients receive prompt medical attention and secure transfers to a hospital or emergency room in emergencies.
National athletes can book appointments and get the required medical assistance from the facility. The facility ensures the recovery process of the players is monitored in a proper manner.
The inauguration of the Social Centre's medical room was followed by an exhibition basketball match.
