Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation, Abdulla Rafiu participates in 18th Asian Federation of Sports, Medicine Congress (AFSM), offering insights into the long-term development and strategic planning of sports in the Maldives. 

The Congress was held from April 26th to 28th, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Approximately 500 delegates from across Asia gathered in two-day conference.

Minister Rafiu also was in attendance at the 8th Sports I.N.S International Medicine and Sports Science conference 2024. 

Both conferences were inaugurated by First Lady of Malaysia her Excellency Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. 

In the press conference Minister shares a brief presentation of the Long-Term Development and Strategic Planning of Sports in Maldives. 

Minister Rafiu held unofficial meetings with First Lady of Malaysia her Excellency Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Sports Minister of Malaysia Hannah Yeoh. In this meeting Minister discussed about the areas and possibilities of help from Malaysia towards the sports development of Maldives.
