Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation Abdulla Rafiu, officially inaugurated a new volleyball court in Dh. Kuda Huvadhoo, marking a significant milestone in the island’s sports development.
The construction of the volleyball court was initiated following a request made by the Kuda Huvadhoo Island Council during the Minister’s visit to the island in July 2024. With the Ministry’s support, the Atoll Council completed the project within an impressive timeframe of just two months, showcasing efficient collaboration and dedication.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Minister Abdulla Rafiu highlighted the key role of the island council in driving this initiative and commended their unwavering commitment to enhancing sports opportunities for the community. He emphasized that such dedication to sports development should serve as a role model for other councils across the Maldives.
