As part of the Ministry of Sports, Fitness and Recreation's ongoing efforts to promote youth development in sports, the Maldives National Institute of Sports (MNIS), in collaboration with the Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM), recently conducted a training program for volleyball referees.
The course, which took place from May 24 to June 2 at the MNIS Seminar Room in Male' City, saw 10 participants successfully complete their training and receive certificates. The closing ceremony was attended by Abdul Razak Ibrahim, the State Minister of the Ministry of Sports, Fitness and Recreation, and Shiyam Ali, the Vice President of VAM.
In his address, State Minister Razak emphasized the importance of putting the newly acquired knowledge into practice.
"Rather than keeping the certificate at home, we hope to see you take the field and help shape a new generation of volleyball players and officials," he said.
The course was conducted by Hussein Hameed, Chairperson of the Volleyball Referees Commission, who led the participants through the intricacies of volleyball officiating.
This training initiative is part of MNIS's broader commitment to developing young coaches and referees across various sports disciplines in the Maldives.
